Hi
Sorry to post in English, my German is very poor.
I own a Sphinx D (Yes, Fiat Ducato) 770 AK GEMC. I would like to have bought an Iveco base, but couldn't fine one for sale in the UK. I had to have RHD as I will take it back to NZ or Australia in a year or so.
I'm planning to install 2 solar panels on my Sphinx.
Is there anything I should know about:
- Fixing the panels to the roof (using Sikaflex 221)?
- Connecting to the battery?
- Any problems with Solar and the Hobby/CBE panel?
A reply in German is fine, I can translate with Google and my own limited knowledge.

I would recommend SIKAFLEX 252 as a substitute to screws in general, however, I would ensure that the enamel is removed in the areas where the Sikaflex will be applied. Else the adhesion of the enamel to the roof is the weak point. It can be painted later on.
Generally a Solar can be connected to a suitable regulator, which is connected directly to the batteries. The CBE-panel will be not engaged and will not cause any problems.

Thank you, that is very helpful.
For some reason, the solar installers here in the UK favour Sikaflex 221. I'll do some more research.

Hallo zusammen,
bevor ich die eingestaubten Englischkenntisse herauskrame, meine Anmerkungen in deutsch :
der Sikaflexkleber und das Sphinxdach, eine lösbare Verbindung.
Bei mir hat sich im Bereich der geklebten vorderen Solarhalterung der Lack des Daches gelöst. Ist der erste Fall der so vorgekommen ist. Und das natürlich bei mir. Wir haben jetzt den vorderen Halter entfernt, ich warte auf eine Stellungnahme. Wir sind erst am Montag vom Gardasee zurückgekommen, Klärung folgt. Gottseidank hatte ich vor der Abfahrt nochmal (mehr zufällig) auf das Dach geschaut.

that's what I meant, the enamel is the weak point. How SIKAFLEX can develop its strenght, if the underground is weaker (and it is, definetely).
Das ist es, was ich meinte, die Lackierung ist der Schwachpunkt, wie kann SIKAFLEX gut kleben, wenn der Lack darunter schwächer ist (und das ist er definitiv).

Hallo Heiner,
du läst aber auch nichts aus.
Au weia ….habe meine zwei Panel nur mit Eckhalter geklebt muss gleich nachschauen ob noch alles Paletti ist, melde mich wieder.
