Hobby Sphinx typenschild

Usually it should be fixed next to one from IVECO.

welcome in the Hobby Forum.

I drive with the additional front Air Suspension about 4-5 bar. That's what Goldschitt recommend. 7 bar is to much.

Usually the total Weight of the Sphinx is 5200 kg.

On the Basis of the additional Front Air Suspension it was possible, some Time in Germany with the German "TÜV" to lift the weight about 200 kg on 5400 kg.

This is since last Year at August not more possible.

Iveco gave me no release for the increase of the total weight. And Hobby refers to Iveco.

So original, the Hobby Sphinx has 5200 kg and you will not find a Plate with the same weight (5400 kg) on the Sphinx.

my Sphinx is at the moment 30 KM far away.

So it takes a while before i return to the Sphinx.

But i think i have the same plate in my Sphinx.

But on this plate you will find nothing about the weight of 5400 kg. The weight you will only find in the "Brief".

What are you looking for on the plate?

Ich glaube, er hat Recht. Soweit ich mich erinnere, ist auf dem Schloßträger in Fahrtrichtung rechts noch ein Typenschild von Hobby angetackert?

first of all, "welcome to the world best forum around Hobby Campers".
As you might have already noticed, there are lots of people in this community exchanging information and help to a very wide range of questions around our Hobby Hobby

As Uwe and Udo already mentioned, the Hobby identification plate should be placed on the front cross frame, close to the original id-plate of IVECO. It doesn't matter if it is IVECO, Ford, Fiat or any other camper, the "extra" id plate has to be placed at an "easily accessible position" and has to indicate all necessary data regarding the camper builder including the load of the axis. This is a EU Regulation since lots of years.
If it is not placed on the frame, there is - as far as I know - only one other position: in the entry section of the co-driver.

Is your camper a used one or do you own it since it was build?
What about crashes? Is it possible that the front cross frame was exchanged after a crash and the Hobby id plate was forgotten to be placed again?

Hi Uwe,

der Thomas hatte in Posting #6 den Schloßträger abgebildet Bild Nr.1. Hierin sitzt das Schloß für die Motorhaube, deshalb der ulkige Name.

Ein Bild von Thomas zeigt das Typenschild von Iveco, in Fahrtrichtung recht. Ich bin der Meinung, das daneben das Schild von Hobby ist - ich habe ja keinen Vergleich mehr.

By my Sphinx was near the "Typenschild" from Iveco anotherone from Hobby. My Sphinx was sold in August 2014. I hope, Uwe can take a look on his Sphinx, at the "Schloßträger" :laugh: .

So the question is, where is your plate?

if I compare tomas' picture with the one from Frank, I have the impression, in that location has never been a plate from HOBBY at Tomas' Sphinx
